We have restricted Spain to one specific area Andalusia. For those landing in Madrid, the high speed train reaches Seville in 2.5 hours. Flight connections to Seville are daily. Seville and nearby Jerez offer two very special locations to stay at that share our philosophy of service and quality. Seville airport also offers twice weekly flights to Marrakech, the low cost Irish airline Ryanair. The hacienda will make all the necessary transfer arrangements. Once in Marrakech you can then explore this wonderful country on any one of our trips shown on this website.
In addition, for those interested in exploring just the north of Morocco, 1 hr 45 minutes away from the hacienda is the port of Tarifa. The hacienda (on request) will make all the required arrangements and chauffeur driven transport to Tarifa where the high speed ferry (45 minutes) brings you into Tangier where our Moroccan chauffeurs and guides will meet you for an ongoing tour of the North of Morocco.
Although Morocco is our sole destination, we have made a very special exception to include two spectacular properties in southern Spain. The reason for this is that many of our clients coming to Morocco also like to incorporate Spain into their trip and ask us to arrange this for them.
This part of Spain is both culturally and historically linked very closely to Morocco and North Africa as the Moors, in 711 AD first landed in Andalusia. One of seven great Moorish universities was situated in Seville. The Moors ruled for some 800 years and their legacies still stand to this day, most notable being the Alhambra Palace in Granada. Many of the old town houses in Seville are in fact like Moroccan riads in style; houses built round inner courtyards. In Seville we offer the exceptional and highly regarded Corral Del Rey. This Anglo-Spanish family owned and managed 17th town house has 16 rooms and suites along with a lounge bar, roof top terrace and restaurant. It is located in the heart of the city. They also provide a full concierge service, drivers and guides.
In addition to the Corral del Rey, the same family also own and run the superb Hacienda San Raphael which has been in their family for some 300 years. The hacienda is located to the South of Seville and to the North of Jerez. From here explore Seville, Jerez and Cadiz as well as the Costa del Luz and much, much more and then journey onward to Morocco to complete your adventure. Here we let the images tell the story of the hacienda.
